We believe that the American troops will always be a valuable part of American life. They sacrifice so much for our country. It would be impossible to live without their protection, struggle and dedication. This has been a very testing year so far, and it is only May. The Armed Forces are stationed across the globe. Although the war in Iraq appears to be stabilizing, wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other beligerent countries are only just beginning.
We think that the servicemen and women in the United States Military are heroes. We believe that we take the losses and sacrifices these men and women have made for granted. Warfare nowadays is very different from other wars. Our servicemen are fighting a war that is draining; numerous tours, long tours, language barriers, un-identified enemies, and facing horrible conditions that include destructive weaponry, and many severe injuries. We think that these men and women deserve more than what they are getting. They volunteer their lives for the very freedom we live by in the United States. Perhaps our country can do more for them while they are overseas, and more for when they return to civilian life. It is a tough job out there, some go without a shower for a week. We don't see the horrors of war because the media senors it. American soldiers protect our country.
We admire the courage, strength and determination these men and women have to have in this line of work. Forget the obstacles they must overcome once they have been assigned location, just the training they have to go through puts us in awe. The discipline these individuals have is unparalleled.
Even if they do not agree with the wars they are fighting, they continue to follow orders completely and without question. We cannot even begin to imagine the daily struggles soldiers have to endure. From being stationed around the world, to being combat, to having normal civilian lives, these unique men and women don't always get all of the respect they deserve.
They're here to protect us and our country and for that we are thankful.
